ماه رمضان

فرا رسیدن ماه رمضان، " فرصتی برای تأمل عمیق، روزه‌داری و پرستش و از خودگذشتگی" برای مسلمانان جهان مبارک باد.

The visual sighting of the crescent moon marks the beginning of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Only after sunset, when daylight has faded enough so you can no longer distinguish between a white and a black string on your hand are Muslims allowed to break the fast. The purpose of fasting is to develop and strengthen one’s self-control, so as to resist “wrongful” desires and bad habits and improve oneself in everyday life. Fasting also makes people think about their bodies, their dependencies and their frailties, as well as those of their fellow men and women. Some say it leads to an expanded capacity for empathy; charity and generosity are highly encouraged during Ramadan.
Are you practicing Ramadan? Do you live in a country where Ramadan is observed, or where it is particularly difficult to observe
